A new standalone novel from author, Daphne Jones-Robinson Chasing BELLE - Sometimes the greatest unknown requests you seek, is staring right back at you. With eyes wide open, you can find those things you seek, but with blinded eyes, they keep us from seeing those things which we also seek. So what do you do? Do you walk in light or do you walk in darkness, seeking those things that deep down trouble your soul? That was my fate. Love blinded me from the start.
My story: I, Samantha Johnson, had a very successful career and the only thing that was missing was the satisfaction of waking up next to the love of my life. Dating had become exhausting, and my biological clock was ticking. So much so, I needed to find the love of my life within the next five minutes or time was would run out. I just knew the love of my life was out there and I had to find it. One day. The night I met Kenneth Wade, I had given up the hope of ever finding love and decided to focus on my career instead. But as fate would have it, it brought us together. I was headed out to meet with a client, when Kenneth pulled up in front of my LA suburban home, in a brand new, black Mercedes Benz. He was lost and was looking for directions. We spent the next two hours engaged in a conversation about work, family and life. In the brief time we spent together, I was smitten by the way he caressed me with his charm. And he had me. Karen Jones was my best friend who I knew I could always count on for great advice. She was the kind of friend whose love for me had no boundaries. When she secretly conducted a background check on Kenneth, the results were heartbreaking. Everything I had known became a lie. He was willing to die to prove his innocence? She was willing to risk to everything to keep him away from me. Torn between love and friendship, I was blinded by my own needs. Til' death do us part. The debut novel from Daphne Jones-Robinson, Chasing Belle is a new addition to the great romantic tradition of Melissa Foster, Nicholas Sparks, Jodi Picoult

I guess I was ignorant in my own mind because I was going through life blindly. Not so much that I couldn’t see and that race and color didn’t matter, it just wasn’t something that I ever thought I would have to deal with or worry about on a day to day basis.
So I guess with everything that is going on in the world, the situations with Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Eric Garner it completely opened my eyes how I now view who I am as an African American woman. I am awake.
